Case Management Services
The case management component of the COACH for Kids® program is staffed by a team of bilingual (English/Spanish) social work professionals. Their goal is to help low-income families use available community resources to make positive, long-term changes in their lives - changes that will ultimately improve the well-being of their children.
Working as part of a community partnership network of agencies, caring social workers help families map out strategies for survival and beyond, as well as provide ongoing support, supervision and encouragement.
Referrals to Community Resources
COACH for Kids® and a network of community agencies and foundations connect families with childcare providers, food sources, parenting classes, youth services and more.
Supportive Counseling
Families struggling to live on very low incomes often feel a sense of hopelessness when the stresses and frustrations of their existence continue to plague them. COACH for Kids® case managers provide not only a sympathetic ear but real-world guidance on ways to advance toward long-term improvements in their day-to-day lives.
Crisis Intervention
Mental illness, addiction, child abuse, teen pregnancy, domestic violence, serious illness and other life situations can cause tremendous suffering for children whose families live on the financial and psychological edge. When crisis situations arise, COACH™ case managers can provide relief through positive intervention and referrals to helping agencies. There is no charge for these services.
Job Training Referrals
Parents trapped in low-paying jobs are referred to a variety of training opportunities available within the community that can help them acquire the skills and knowledge they need to gain employment, earn higher incomes and create a path to a better future.
Legal Referrals
To assist families living in unsanitary, dangerous conditions, as well as those facing eviction or homelessness, the COACH™ team of professionals is ready with referrals and resources.
