Since some traumas and disasters are simply too widespread for children’s needs to be met through our services alone, we also provide training to teachers who will be on the front lines in the event of a major earthquake or terrorist attack, for example.
Our in-service training helps teachers with specific tools and techniques they can use in the classroom, and equips them to help individual students who may face particular struggles following a traumatic event.
We also prepare elementary school teachers to help young students understand their feelings and emotional reactions to traumatic events and other stressors, such as bullying or a death in the family.
