Psychological Trauma Center
Since 1981, Cedars-Sinai’s Psychological Trauma Center has helped to heal the psychological wounds of children who have witnessed or experienced gang violence, bullying, domestic abuse, suicide, homelessness, drug abuse, natural disasters and other tragedies.
Our school-based programs help direct and indirect victims of trauma, filling crucial needs for therapy, crisis intervention, and training that would otherwise be unmet. We enhance an at-risk child's ability to learn in the classroom, change destructive behaviors and envision a brighter and happier future.
We operate in three high schools, five middle schools and 19 elementary schools and our mental professionals log over 20,000 contacts each year with students, parents and teachers through our Share and Care program, counseling sessions and therapy groups.
