How many fellows are accepted each year?
We offer one fellowship spot each academic year.
What are the requirements?
For consideration, candidates must be currently enrolled or have completed a diagnostic radiology residency from an ACGME-accredited program or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada program. There are no exceptions.
How do I apply?
Forward the following items by e-mail c/o KenneybrewD@cshs.org:
- 2 letters of recommendation addressed to Franklin G. Moser, MD, Program Director
- Personal statement
- Completed application
- Color passport-sized photo
Call activities provide fellows with continuity of patient care experience. Pager call is assigned one week in four. The fellow also participates in rotating call with 4 fellows including a Saturday 8am to 6pm, a weekday from 6pm to 8pm and 1 holiday 8am to 6pm. Fridays are covered by an attending.
Are there moonlighting opportunities available?
Moonlighting opportunities are available weekly.
Are there Research Opportunities?
Research is an essential part of medicine and the fellow will prepare at least one paper for publication or presentation at a national meeting. There is a wide selection of research opportunities available and faculty members welcome participation in all aspects of research.. Fellows are encouraged to undertake at least one project while in training.
Are there opportunities to attend an outside conference?
Fellows may attend one department-paid national or local conference annually, which will include registration, hotel accommodates, air travel and food.
What is the job market for graduates after completion of the program?
Most of our graduates chose to remain in California and obtained faculty positions locally. Our 2011 graduate is on staff at Cedars-Sinai Medical Staff. Other graduates accepted faculty positions nationwide.
What is the attending to fellow ratio?
There are 6 attendings and one fellow. One radiology resident is also on the service.
Are there any spots available in the 2013 program?
No. The 2013 spot has been filled.
When do medical benefits begin?
Medical benefits begin on the first day of the program.
