Internship Programs

Internships provide academic and educational opportunities for students interested in a career in healthcare. Interns have the opportunity to work in a structured and mentored environment that supports learning in research, clinical, and administrative areas.

Internships at Cedars-Sinai provide current students and recent graduates with education and hands-on training in a professional healthcare setting. Cedars-Sinai offers internships in research, administration and operations as well as limited allied health areas. Interns have the opportunity to work in a structured and mentored environment that supports learning. Internships foster and enhance essential skills such as idea generation, critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, collaboration and teamwork. While each experience is unique, all internships include the following core activities:

  • Pre-appointment onboarding
  • New Employee Orientation, safety training and role-specific orientation
  • Hands-on training and education that help prepare interns for a career in the internship area
  • Guidance and regular one-on-one meetings with mentors
  • Opportunity to attend department meetings
  • Opportunity to participate in lunchtime learning and networking events (during the summer)

Training Future Leaders

By linking interns with mentors who provide oversight and education, Cedars-Sinai has created a rich environment where students are enthusiastic and well supported throughout their stay. Interns are drawn from undergraduate science programs as well as from medical schools, making the mix of interests an asset in broadening the perspectives of those who engage in research. We are indeed proud that the program receives wide attention from highly talented young scientists and medical students.
