Nonsurgical Options

A woman's treatment options depend on a number of factors. Among them are her age and menopausal status, general health, size of her breast and the size and location of the tumor and stage of the cancer (based on tumor size and whether the cancer has spread). Results of lab tests can provide further clarity, including features of the tumor cells (such as whether they depend on hormones to grow). In addition to surgery, the multidisciplinary team at Cedars-Sinai’s Saul and Joyce Brandman Breast Center - A Project of Women's Guild ensures that patients have access to the full range of nonsurgical treatment options, including clinical trials of new cancer treatments, and helps to design a treatment plan best suited for each patient’s needs.
