Jeffrey H. Fair, MD

Transplant Surgeon

Jeffrey Fair, MD is a transplant surgeon with the Comprehensive Transplant Center and the Department of Surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. His primary specialties include adult and pediatric liver and kidney transplantation, pancreas transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery. Before joining Cedars-Sinai, Dr. Fair was a Professor of Surgery, Chief Division of Transplantation and Director of Pediatric Liver Transplant at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine.

Dr. Fair is an experienced investigator with NIH-supported studies in liver stem cell therapeutic strategies. He is a member of the International Liver Transplant Society, Transplantation Society, American Society of Transplant Surgeons, American Society of Transplantation and American College of Surgeons.

He has published articles in many peer-reviewed publications, including Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, American Journal of Transplantation, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Liver Transplantation, Journal of Surgical Research and American Journal of Physiology - Gastrointestinal and Liver Physiology.

Dr. Fair received his bachelor's degree with honors from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and his medical degree from East Carolina University School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery internship and surgical residency at the East Carolina University School of Medicine. He completed his transplant surgical training at Johns Hopkins Hospital, fulfilled a pancreas transplantation fellowship at the University of Minnesota Hospital, and served in the United States Army Reserve Medical Corps for 14 years.
