Raj Khandwalla, MD

Raj Khandwalla, MD, is the director of Cardiovascular Education at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Care Foundation. He is a board-certified cardiologist practicing with the Cedars-Sinai Medical Group and Cedars-Sinai Health Associates.
Dr. Khandwalla earned a bachelor's degree in molecular cell biology with an emphasis in neurobiology from the University of California, Berkeley. He earned his medical degree from the Tufts University School of Medicine and a master's degree in international relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. He completed his residency training at New York University (NYU) Medical Center, where he served as chief resident. During his time at NYU, he helped develop curriculum for the internal medicine program that focused on web-based educational tools. Most recently, Dr. Khandwalla completed a cardiology fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center.
Dr. Khandwalla has co-authored research papers on heart failure and has conducted research on mitral valve disease. He has an avid interest in complex valvular disease, as well as developing strategies for effective lifestyle modification. He is particularly interested in the use of mobile technology to help patients monitor and change their habits in order to reduce their cardiovascular risk.
