Length of Stay

Upon admission to the unit, a patient is evaluated by the rehabilitation team and an individualized treatment plan is established. Progress towards team goals are evaluated at a minimum, on a weekly basis by your rehabilitation team. A patient's length of stay on the inpatient rehabilitation unit is determined by:

  • active participation in the rehabilitation program
  • ability to progress towards goals
  • ongoing authorization by the payor source
  • the involvement of family, friends and significant others
  • a safe discharge plan

Rehabilitation Team

A highly skilled team of professionals is dedicated to each patient's rehabilitation needs. This group comprises physiatrists, psychologists, neuropsychologists, rehabilitation nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, respiratory therapists, speech-language pathologists, therapeutic recreation specialists, social workers, case managers and dietitians. This interdisciplinary team works together to develop the most appropriate treatment plan for each patient. But, the most important team members are the patient, family, friends, caregivers and significant others.

Visiting Hours and Parking

Visits by family and friends are vital to the rehabilitation process. Family and friends are asked to visit during non-therapy times to allow patients to focus their attention on their therapy sessions. Visitation hours are from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. daily. While visiting, and when appropriate, caregivers are encouraged to work with the staff to learn the proper rehabilitation techniques to be continued after discharge.

Visitor parking is available around the Medical Center. Patients and visitors may purchase one-week, two-week or monthly parking passes from the Parking Office. The Parking Office is located at the entrance of Parking Lot 8 on George Burns Drive between Gracie Allen Drive and Third Street. For more information, please call the Parking Hotline at (310) 423-5535 or visit the following link: Patient and Visitor Parking
