Psychiatry Rotation

Residents will complete this rotation during the PGY 3 year. The primary goal of the consultation-liaison psychiatry rotation is for residents to develop competence in evaluating and assisting in the treatment of medical and surgical patients who also have psychiatric problems. This work is conducted in both inpatient and outpatient settings at Cedars-Sinai. Residents are expose to a wide range of neuro-psychiatric clinical problems among patients with diverse medical and surgical illnesses. Residents learn the role of the psychiatric consultant and also about the role of a liaison psychiatrist to a particular medical service. Residents receive extensive didactic classes in the centralized curriculum, weekly conferences and bedside supervision by faculty.

Residents on this rotation take at home call on average once every 4.3 nights.
