Measuring the Quality of Care Given at the Cedars-Sinai Neurovascular Center

The Neurovascular Center at the Cedars-Sinai Department of Neurosurgery is committed to continually improved the quality of patient care and outcomes.  The center monitors and reports on a number of quality measures, including those for:

  • Brain aneurysms, including the number of aneurysms treated and the mortality rates for patients undergoing either a clipping procedure or a coiling procedure
  • Preventing the risk of a stroke using either a carotid endarterectomy or carotid stenting. The center reports the number of each type of procedure done, the average length of stay required for each procedure and mortality rates for patients up to 30 days after their discharge following each procedure.
