Measuring the Quality of Care Given to Patients at the Cedars-Sinai Spine Center

The Cedars-Sinai Spine Center continually monitors the quality of care given to patients.  A number of care quality factors are observed and reported, including:

• Cervical fusion procedure volumes

• Length of hospital stay for patients undergoing cervical procedures

• Lumbar fusion procedure volumes

• Length of hospital stay for patients undergoing lumbar procedures

In addition, certain measures of the quality of care are reported on a hospital-wide basis.  These include:

Nursing excellence

Prevention of hospital-acquired infections

Surgical care improvement, including infection prevention and blood clot prevention

• The National Research Corporation's Consumer Choice Award survey

Patient satisfaction
