Quality and Safety
The Cedars-Sinai Spine Center continually monitors the quality of care given to patients. A number of care quality factors are observed and reported, including:
- Cervical fusion procedure volumes
- Length of hospital stay for patients undergoing cervical procedures
- Lumbar fusion procedure volumes
- Length of hospital stay for patients undergoing lumbar procedures
In addition, certain measures of the quality of care are reported on a hospital-wide basis. These include:
- Nursing excellence
- Prevention of hospital-acquired infections
- Surgical care improvement, including infection prevention and blood clot prevention
- The National Research Corporation's Consumer Choice Award survey
- Patient satisfaction
