Spine Center's Expert Team

Led by Rick B. Delamarter, MD, John Liu, MD and Avrom Gart, MD, the Cedars-Sinai Spine Center has a multidisciplinary team of orthopaedists, neurosurgeons, pain management and conservative care specialists, and spine nurses.

Research and teaching are emphases of the center that help us to provide the most state-of-the-art clinical care available. Numerous clinical trials are being conducted. Some of the latest techniques are available to create the most effective treatments to alleviate back and neck pain. Current studies include non-fusion devices for spinal stabilization and laboratory research involving biomechanics and biotechnology for spinal regeneration.

The Center is also dedicated to teaching other surgeons through the fellowship program. An academic environment contributes to a stronger spine center by challenging the Center's surgeons to share their breadth of expertise and knowledge with other surgeons throughout the world. The result is a dynamic and stimulating environment to encounter and successfully treat difficult spinal disorders with innovative solutions.
