Soroush A. Ramin MD

Soroush A. Ramin, MD is a board certified urologist at the Cedars-Sinai Urology Center. He also is Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Department of Urologic Oncology at City of Hope.
Dr. Ramin's clinical and research focus is on robot-assisted and laparoscopic prostatectomy. He has written numerous articles and abstracts on these and other subjects in peer-reviewed publications such as Urology and the Journal of Urology. He has made presentations on surgical and non-surgical issues related to prostate cancer at more than 40 professional meetings, both locally and nationally.
In addition to being a past president of the Los Angeles Urologic Society, Dr. Ramin is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Urological Association (National and Western Sections), and the American Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons.
Dr. Ramin earned a bachelor's in philosophy and a bachelor's in biochemistry at the University of California, Los Angeles. He earned his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. After an internship, general surgery residency and a urology residency at Loma Linda University, Dr. Ramin completed a fellowship in urology oncology at the City of Hope Medical Center.
Dr. Ramin remained a faculty member at City of Hope where he was instrumental in developing the current techniques in robotic assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy. In 2004, Dr. Ramin joined the medical staff at Cedar Sinai, where he performed robotic assisted laparoscopic cystoprostatectomies and neobladders for advanced bladder cancer.
As a fellowship trained urologic oncologist, Dr. Ramin has performed hundreds of open and minimally invasive robotic and laparoscopic surgeries related to genitourinary diseases since 2000. Dr. Ramin is a certified instructor of robotic surgery. He has trained numerous residents, fellows, and private practitioners robotic prostate and kidney procedures. He is currently active in teaching the urology fellows at Cedar Sinai robotic assisted urologic surgery.
