Neuroinflammation and hypertension

Research Contributions

Anti-inflammation can significantly suppress blood pressure and sympathetic tone in hypertensive animals

Current investigations include:

1) to examine the effects of microglia on sympathetic outflow, neurohumoral release and pathophysiological changes associated with hypertension;
2) to characterize a distinctive molecular signature of microglial activation associated with hypertension;
3) to understand how microglial activation changes the progress of hypertension and its molecular basis.
