Sara Ghandehari, MD is an intensivist and pulmonologist at Cedars-Sinai’s Women’s Guild Lung Institute, Assistant Director of the Lung Transplant Program and Medical Director of the Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine with specialties in pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine.
After graduating with honors and earning a bachelor’s of Science degree in Biochemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles, Dr. Ghandehari earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois, Chicago School of Medicine. She completed an internship and residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care at Cedars-Sinai. Dr. Ghandehari was the recipient of the 2007 Lowy fellowship award for excellence in critical care medicine.
In addition to her extensive clinical experience, Dr. Ghandehari’s clinical research interests include study of advanced lung diseases, lung transplantation, and pulmonary rehabilitation. Her research has appeared in numerous peer-reviewed journals and she is a frequent lecturer on these topics. She is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, American Thoracic Society, International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation, and the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
Dr. Ghandehari serves as assistant professor of clinical medicine at Cedars-Sinai and UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine.
