Conflicts of Interest Policy
Public Disclosure of Financial Conflicts of Interest (FCOI) of Investigators Funded by Public Health Services (PHS) Research Grants and Contracts
CSMC will ensure public accessibility, via written response to any requestor within 5 business days of receipt of a request, of information concerning any Significant Financial Interest (SFI) that CSMC’s Committee for the Management of Industry Relations and Conflicts of Interest (IR/COI Committee) determines to be a reportable FCOI of investigators serving as Senior/Key Personnel in PHS-funded research.
In order to receive information on a Senior/Key Personnel’s reportable FCOI, a requestor must submit his/her request in writing to the following:

The request for information must specify the PHS-funded research project for which the information is requested. CSMC will not honor requests for information that are not sent to the above listed party and address and/or that do not specify a PHS-funded research project. Email requests for information or postings to CSMC’s internet website will not be honored.
For requests that meet the above requirements, the IR/COI Committee shall make available, via a written response, the following information regarding the Senior/Key Personnel’s reportable FCOI:
- Senior/Key Personnel’s name;
- Senior/Key Personnel’s title and role with respect to the Research;
- Name of the entity in which the SFI is held;
- Nature of the SFI; and
- Approximate dollar value of the SFI, stated in the following dollar ranges: $0–$4,999; $5,000–$9,999; $10,000–$19,999; amounts between $20,000–$100,000 by increments of $20,000; amounts above $100,000 by increments of $50,000), or a statement that the interest is one whose value cannot be readily determined through reference to public prices or other reasonable measures of fair market value.
The information provided will be current as of the date of the correspondence and will be subject to updates on at least an annual basis and within 60 days of the IR/COI Committee’s identification of any new FCOI. Information concerning FCOIs will remain available for responses to written requests for at least 3 years from the date that the information was most recently updated.
