Khoynezhad Laboratory

The Khoynezhad Laboratory focuses on aortic research, such as evaluation of novel adjuncts to reduce the incidence of spinal cord ischemic injury, and the treatment of ascending aortic and aortic root pathologies. This lab has incorporated a number of in vitro and in vivo models, as well as outcome research of patients using clinical databases.

Other ongoing projects at the Khoynezhad Laboratory includes evaluating pathways of pathophysiology in aortic aneurysm and dissection; discovering new technologies to treat aortic and aortic valve disease; and preventing complications after endovascular aortic and aortic valve therapy such as spinal cord injury or stroke.

The Khoynezhad Laboratory is affiliated with the Heart Institute and Surgery Department.
