Shih Laboratory

The goal of the Shih Laboratory, led by David Q. Shih, MD, PhD, is to better understand the functional effect of genetic variants of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) genes, autophagy, and host-microbe interaction in the immunobiology of IBD, through the use of molecular, cellular, transgenic animal, and human tissue models.

The Shih Laboratory is affiliated with the F. Widjaja Foundation Inflammatory Bowel and Immunobiology Research Institute and the Department of Medicine.
