Internal Medicine Residency
Led by some of the nation’s best educators in health science, our programs are at the forefront of translational medicine and healthcare innovation.
The mission of the Cedars-Sinai Internal Medicine Residency Training Program is to prepare our residents to become physician leaders who possess the tools for success in practice as general internists, in subspecialty training or in careers as physician-scientists. Our dedicated faculty members of more than 200 physicians and researchers partner with our trainees to create an environment of academic inquiry that empowers residents to meet their unique potential as healers, patient advocates and innovators. As the largest nonprofit independent hospital on the West Coast, tied for #1 in California and recognized 10 years in a row on the “Best Hospitals” Honor Roll by U.S. News & World Report, excellence in patient care is at the core of all we do.
The Cedars-Sinai Internal Medicine Residency Training Program provides rigorous clinical training across a variety of inpatient and outpatient experiences. Beyond the core clinical rotations, residents craft a training experience tailored to their unique career and academic interests. Graduates are well prepared to become leaders in patient care and research.
Our Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Commitment
Internal Medicine Residency Program Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee Mission Statement:
We strive to build a training program that is made up of individuals with diverse backgrounds, lived experiences and intersecting identities to enhance the educational environment for our trainees and faculty. This kind of environment empowers us to recognize our shared humanity, acknowledge and address discrimination and oppression, and ultimately eliminate health disparities for our patients.
To that end, the Cedars-Sinai Internal Medicine Residency Program is committed to cultural sensitivity, non-discrimination and anti-racism, with the aim of promoting an environment of inclusivity and equity for marginalized groups, including but not limited to racial and ethnic minorities, individuals with disabilities, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, religious minorities, and those from diverse or nontraditional educational backgrounds.
The IM Residency DEI Committee empowers residents to lead initiatives that promote inclusivity within our program, advance education on health equity, and enhance recruitment of residents from historically underrepresented groups.
