Board certified in both general surgery and surgical critical care, Dr. Khalili is also an attending surgeon at Cedars-Sinai's Surgical Intensive Care Unit and trauma services. In addition, he is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Bariatric Surgery, American Medical Association and the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). He is the author of numerous papers and presentations on a variety of subjects, including laparoscopic surgery, organ transplantation and bioartificial liver treatment. Dr. Khalili holds a bachelor's degree from California State University at Northridge and earned his medical degree from The Chicago Medical School. While in medical school, he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He completed his internship and residency in general surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he also served a fellowship in surgical critical care. Dr. Khalili's work was recognized with a Resident's Prize in 1997 from the Pacific Coast Surgical Association and the Paul Rubinstein Prize for Resident Research in 1997 and 1998.
