Lead Christian Chaplain

Rev. Peggy Kelley, MDiv, BCC, is the lead Christian chaplain at Cedars-Sinai. She is a board-certified chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains 

Prior to joining Cedars-Sinai, Rev. Kelley provided spiritual care to adults and children at Providence Holy Cross Hospital, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, UCLA Medical Center and St. Cloud Hospital in Minnesota.

Rev. Kelley has worked as a mentor and advocate with at-risk and abused children at Anna Marie’s Alliance in St. Cloud, Minnesota, and created spiritual discovery workshops in Los Angeles for diverse groups of children and families, empowering participants to explore their individual faiths. She was also a missionary with Mother Teresa’s orphanages, where she served as a child escort, accompanying adopted orphans from foreign countries to their new American family homes.

Rev. Kelley is an ordained minister in the Congregational Church. She is also an oblate with the Sisters of St. Benedict’s Monastery, which she credits for much of the formation of her faith. She completed one unit of clinical pastoral education at UCLA and three units at Children’s Hospital. She earned a master’s of divinity degree at St. John’s Seminary and School of Theology in Collegeville, Minnesota.

While at St. John’s, she was the inaugural recipient of the Scholars in Faith and the Common Good Award, which recognized her interfaith work. This work included hosting a weekly radio interview program exploring ideas and traditions from a variety of faith communities.

Rev. Kelley is a member of the Association of Professional Chaplains and the National Association of Catholic Chaplains and is a reiki master certified by the American Reiki Academy.
