Nasreen Merchant, MD

Hospitalist

Nasreen Merchant, MD, is a neonatal hospitalist and leads the Multidisciplinary High Risk Infant Follow Up Clinic at Cedars-Sinai. She is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in general pediatrics.

Dr. Merchant earned her bachelor of science degree from St. Joseph College, Karachi, Pakistan. She earned her bachelor of medicine and surgery at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center, Sindh Medical College, Karachi. While in medical school, she was heavily involved in women and child advocacy. She participated in community outreach programs, educating women in rural villages about reproductive health and birth control.

She completed her postgraduate training and internship in pediatrics at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Karachi, and her pediatric residency at Mount Carmel Mercy/St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Detroit.

Dr. Merchant has worked as a clinical professor with Michigan State University, has served on several quality improvement committees and belongs to a number of professional medical societies, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Michigan State Medical Society and the American Medical Association.
