Ghazal Vessal, RPH, PharmD, PhD
Ghazal Vessal, RPh, PharmD, PhD, is a clinical pharmacist with Cedars-Sinai Medical Group and Cedars-Sinai Health Associates.
Vessal received her doctor of pharmacy degree from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, School of Pharmacy in Iran. She holds a PhD in clinical pharmacy from Tehran University of Medical Sciences, School of Pharmacy. She then got awarded by the Ministry of Health to complete a post-doctoral research fellowship abroad. She completed her post-doctoral research fellowship at University of Maryland, School of Pharmacy. Upon completion, Vessal returned to Iran and served as an assistant professor of Clinical Pharmacy at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. She participated in teaching and research and also held a position as a consultant clinical pharmacist specialist at the Department of Nephrology at Namazi Hospital, the largest university affiliated hospital in south of Iran. Vessal also served as an adverse drug reaction consultant of the Food and Drug Organization. Upon her return to the U.S., she received her license to practice pharmacy in the state of California and completed a one year residency in Ambulatory Care Clinical Pharmacy at Cedars Sinai Medical Network.
Vessal's research has been published in numerous academic journals. Her primary research interests include clinical trials in nephrology, infectious disease related clinical projects, research in adverse drug events/pharmacovigilance, medication errors and patient safety.
Vessal is fluent in Farsi.
