Trauma Registrar,  Department of Surgery

Mario J. Trizzino, CSTR is the Trauma Registrar of the Department of Surgery for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.   His responsibilities include identification of trauma related injuries, diagnosis and operative procedure coding as well as statistical reporting.

Accredited by the American Trauma Society (ATS) as a Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry, Mr. Trizzino has been a member of the ATS for over eight years. He has served as a member of the Department of Health Services Data Committee where he was responsible for trauma registry data collection, abstraction and reporting policies that have been implemented nationwide.   His recognition nationwide has made him a mentor for new Trauma Registrars locally, regionally and nationally.

He is responsible for the development of Cedars-Sinai’s Trauma Registry Operations Manual as well Data Security and Release of Information Guidelines.

Mt. Trizzino currently sits as a member of the Trauma Performance Improvement Committee and has accrued many years of experience in the preparation and presentation of the Advanced Trauma Life Support courses held twice a year at Cedars-Sinai.

With over ten years of service to the Trauma Program, Mr. Trizzino’s data and statistics have served as a solid foundation for the Trauma Program.   His efforts have provided a positive working relationship between the Department of Health Services and the Trauma Program of Cedars-Sinai.
