Associate Director, Psychology
Michael G. Wetter, PsyD, is the associate director of Psychology at the Cedars-Sinai Weight Loss Center. He has extensive experience in issues pertaining to emotional dysfunction, diagnostic consultation and program management. He is experienced in providing cognitive-behavioral therapy, supportive psychotherapy, clinical assessment and pre-surgical evaluation and treatment.
Prior to joining the Weight Loss Center, Wetter served as the chief of Adult Psychiatry Services at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center, Hayward, in Northern California. He has been published in the field of clinical psychology on topics such as anxiety and emotion regulation. Wetter has lectured nationally to a variety of professional and patient organizations and has served as an expert consultant to numerous publications and media outlets. Wetter is a diplomate of the American Psychotherapy Association and a member of the American Academy of Psychologists, National Alliance of Psychology Providers and the American Psychological Association.
Wetter earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of California, Riverside. He earned his master's degree in counseling psychology from Northwestern University in Chicago and his doctorate degree in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles.
