Co-Director, Carcinoid and Neuroendocrine Tumor Program

Run Yu, MD, PhD is the Co-Director of the Carcinoid and Neuroendocrine Tumor Program at Cedars-Sinai and Associate Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Dr. Yu is board certified in internal medicine and in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism. His clinical and research interests include endocrine tumors, general endocrinology and diabetes.

Dr. Yu has written numerous articles for several peer-reviewed biomedical journals, including the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, American Journal of Medicine, Pancreas, Molecular Pharmacology, Journal of Biological Chemistry and Endocrinology. His articles cover a wide range of endocrine diseases such as adrenal tumors, neuroendocrine tumors, pituitary tumors, thyroid diseases, calcium disorders and diabetes.  He is also a member of The Endocrine Society and The Pituitary Society.

Dr. Yu earned his medical degree from Peking Union Medical College in Beijing and his doctorate in pharmacology from the University of Rochester in New York, where he complete a postdoctoral fellowship. Dr. Yu also completed an endocrine research fellowship, an internal medicine internship and residency and a clinical endocrinology fellowship at Cedars-Sinai and UCLA.
