Grantmaking

Cedars-Sinai grantmaking is an ongoing, high-impact philanthropic initiative focused on improving access to care, addressing health disparities and promoting civic engagement to help Los Angeles' most vulnerable residents.

Please note: We are unable to accept unsolicited grant proposals.

Strategic Grant Programs and Initiatives

The Community Benefit Giving Office centralizes all outbound philanthropy on behalf of Cedars-Sinai. Grants are awarded to nonprofit organizations working to strengthen the healthcare safety net and improve the wellbeing of the most vulnerable in our community. Cedars-Sinai grantmaking strives to increase health equity through a series of programs, initiatives and partnerships, with a focus on community members who are underinsured, uninsured or uninsurable.

Access to Care

The access to care grantmaking portfolio aims to increase the capacity of organizations to improve access to comprehensive, quality healthcare services for underserved populations. This includes Cedars-Sinai's flagship Community Clinic Initiative, which is focused on bolstering leadership and effectiveness within safety-net clinics, and the Behavioral Health Initiative, which is dedicated to increasing access to integrated health services.

Social Determinants of Health

Cedars-Sinai's social determinants of health grantmaking portfolio aims to increase the capacity of organizations to promote healthy environments in which people are born, grow, live, work and age. The social determinants of health portfolio includes a focus on programs that address social risk factors such as economic stability and workforce development, as well as Cedars-Sinai's newly launched Homelessness and Housing Initiative, which is focused on supporting the needs of youth and older adults experiencing homelessness.
