The Cedars-Sinai Continuing Medical Education Program offers a variety of online educational sessions. Learn best practices from faculty through videos, gaming modules, case studies, panel discussions and more.
The following is the current available list of online activities. Many of these activities are offered complimentary. After completing an online activity, you may register and receive your continuing medical education (CME) certificate electronically.
An Individualized Approach to Biologic Therapy for Inflammatory Bowel Disease Using a Patient Online Decision Tool
The care of the patient with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is complex , with treatment options that may equally allow for differing treatment strategies. Understanding how patients with IBD assess their risks, benefits, quality of life, convenience, and cost trade-offs when they decide among the various biologic treatment options can help guide clinicians in making clinical decisions. This online CME module will be an interactive experience that will help physicians identify what matters most (i.e., mode of administration, effectiveness, etc.) to IBD patients.
This activity is designated for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.
Lupus: What’s Next? Examining Mechanisms, Monitoring, and Medication Updates
Together, these two online CME/MOC activities will equip clinicians who care for patients with lupus with the latest evidence-based information on integrating disease activity assessments into practice, the future of biomarkers, and the immunopathogenesis of SLE. A review of recently approved and emerging therapies and their unique mechanisms of action is also provided.
The courses may be taken independently as needed and in any order. Each has an estimated completion time of 30 minutes, and is designated for a maximum of 0.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. These activities were developed in collaboration with The France Foundation, and are offered free of charge, thanks to an educational grant from AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP.
Are You Up to Date on Individualizing SLE Treatment Strategies? An Innovative, Patient-Focused Learning Experience

Fluoroscopy Safety Courses
The California law governing the renewal of the California Fluoroscopy Operator and Supervisor permits now requires that four out the 10 hours of continuing education that physicians complete must be specific to radiation safety during fluoroscopy.
We are very pleased to announce the new online version of the fluoroscopy safety courses. These classes are the same as the live classes.
The classes are targeted to fluoroscopy use, but they also count toward the 10 CME units that is required if you only have a radiographic operator and supervisor permit.
Four online CME courses are available on the Cedars-Sinai CME Portal. These courses meet the new California requirement for education on radiation safety in the use of digital fluoroscopy and are intended for Cedars-Sinai physicians only.
