Fellows are selected through the Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology Fellowship Match using the SF Match service. The Society of Cardiovascular Anesthesiologists sponsors the matching process and is responsible for enforcement of the applicable rules.
The SF match takes place in June and will be used to process all applicants who want to start their fellowship training in July of the following year. Applicants are responsible for ensuring they meet all prerequisites for eligibility prior to registering for the match. There is a $100 non-refundable applicant registration fee that covers registration and matching.
Applications must be submitted and received between Oct. 1 and March 31, and interviews are held from March 15 through May 15.
For more information, including a timetable and deadlines, please visit the Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology Fellowship Match page of the SF Match website.
Interested parties may receive an application packet by contacting:
Olivia Hernandez, Residency and Fellowship Coordinator
The Fellowship Selection Committee will review all complete applications (application, curriculum vitae, resident in-training exam report and letters of recommendation) after the March 31 deadline. Candidates will then be contacted for an interview.
Appointees must qualify for their respective boards in Anesthesia. Possession of a full and unrestricted license to practice as a physician in the State of California is an absolute requirement. If you are unsure as to your qualifications to obtain this license, you may get specifics from:
