The Transfusion Medicine Fellowship is an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education–accredited program that provides comprehensive training in all aspects of transfusion medicine, including blood donor collection, immunohematology, transfusion practices, therapeutic apheresis, tissue banking and stem cell processing.

The mission of the fellowship is to:

  • Provide outstanding education in all aspects of blood banking/transfusion medicine.
  • Prepare fellows to successfully pass the American Board of Pathology blood banking/transfusion medicine subspecialty exam.
  • Allow fellows to become effective educators.
  • Prepare fellows for a career in either a hospital transfusion service or blood center setting.

The program provides ample resources including a generous annual educational stipend and support for clinical and translational research.
