A. Non-contrast CT Brain

Though her symptoms could be from a Migraine headache her lack of prior such history requires further evaluation. After interview and physical exam the non-contrast CT head would be an appropriate next step. A contrast CT head would not be suitable, because the contrast can obscure intracranial hemorrhage. CT brain would also depict mass effect that might preclude performing a lumbar puncture for occult SAH or meningitis.
