Case of the Month May 2015

The patient is a 1 day old baby boy born at 36 weeks and 6 days with polyhydramnios, cardiomegaly, and a presumed intraparenchymal arteriovenous malformation diagnosed by a prenatal ultrasound prior to delivery.  Of note, the patient’s anatomy scan at 20 weeks was normal.  Upon delivery, the patient was intubated due to respiratory distress and the following chest radiograph was obtained:
