Lung Institute

The Lung Institute at Cedars-Sinai provides outstanding care for patients with advanced pulmonary diseases, while continuing to push the frontiers of science to discover new treatments and cures. As leaders in pulmonary care and research, thoracic surgery and lung cancer, we are dedicated to matching patients with the most effective treatments available. This includes the best evidence-based therapies currently in the field, as well as access to leading-edge clinical trials.

Made possible through the generosity of the Women’s Guild, the Lung Institute has made significant strides in the treatment of pulmonary illnesses. Among its achievements, the Institute has advanced research in genetic links to lung cancer, established a research-critical tissue bank, participated in the approval of first-in-class drugs for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, and developed advanced techniques in minimally-invasive surgery. Pulmonary hypertension, lung injuries, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and lung cancer are among the conditions physician scientists continue to investigate.
