Stroke and Neurologic Rehabilitation

The Stroke and Neurologic Rehabilitation Program helps people with neurologic deficits resulting from cerebrovascular (stroke) disease, central nervous system diseases (Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis and myelopathy), neuromuscular disorders (myasthenia gravis, ALS, Guillain-Barre) and postsurgical brain and spinal cord injuries.

Physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists offer treatment to help improve communication, physical, cognitive and vision functioning to promote self-reliance and achieve a successful re-integration at home, in the community and at work.

For appointments in the outpatient clinic, a doctor's written prescription is needed. It may be sent by fax or mail. Prior authorization by the patient's health plan or insurance carrier may also be needed. Following the receipt of a prescription by Outpatient Rehabilitation Services, the individual will be contacted to arrange an appointment.
