Mass Spectrometry and Biomarker Discovery Core

Mass spectrometry is one of the most powerful bioanalytical technologies and has been widely used in many fields such as proteomics, peptidomics, metabolomics and lipidomics. It plays a pivotal role in the discovery and verification of novel biomarkers, the identification of new therapeutic targets and the delineation of molecular mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis and progression of various diseases.

Established in 2013, the Mass Spectrometry and Biomarker Discovery Core strives to provide high-quality, fast-turnaround and relatively inexpensive mass spectrometry-based services on global or targeted analysis of proteins, peptides, post-translational modifications, small molecule compounds, metabolites and lipids. The core provides support for researchers and clinicians at Cedars-Sinai, as well as investigators at other institutes and companies.
