As a Cedars-Sinai fellow, you will have the opportunity to learn in some of the best-equipped outpatient, inpatient, surgical, and research facilities in the world.
Cedars-Sinai's Epilepsy Program, designated as a Level IV center by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC), offers an active epilepsy monitoring unit, scalp/sphenoidal monitoring, invasive electrode depth and subdural studies, and ictal single photon emission computed tomography interpretation of magnetoencephalography studies. Fellows receive training in electroencephalography monitoring, somatosensory and multimodality evoked potential monitoring, as well as motor strip and language mapping, in one of the largest intraoperative monitoring programs in the Western United States.
Electromyogram (EMG)/neuromuscular training involves high volumes of electrodiagnostic studies in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Fellows are introduced to sophisticated EMG studies, single fiber electromyography, pediatric EMGs, EMG-guided botulinum toxin injections, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis care and clinical trials, neuromuscular clinics and management of myasthenia patients.
The fellowship offers ample opportunities for clinical research. It fulfills requirements for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Clinical Neurophysiology, American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology and American Association of Neuromuscular Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
