Application Information
The program will be accepting applications for the academic year 2026-27 in the fall of 2025.
Information regarding Thoracic Surgery—Integrated Residency interviews for positions starting training in June 2026 will be announced at the end of September 2025. Applications must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Please see the ERAS website for more registration information and timelines.
Application Submission and Timelines
Graduation from an accredited U.S. or Canadian medical school, or a valid certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) is required.
- Applications are accepted through ERAS only
- Residency applicants may begin submitting MyERAS applications on Sept. 3, 2025.
- Application Deadline: October 2025

Interviews
All interviews will be done in person at the Smidt Heart Institute at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles, California.
- Interviews for the academic year 2026-27 will be held in November and December of 2025
Q&A Informative Sessions for all applicants
Q&A informative sessions for all applicants will be conducted via Zoom in October 2025, and a hyperlink for registration for each Q&A session will be sent via email and ERAS messaging by the end of September 2025.
