At Cedars-Sinai, we have demonstrated a longstanding commitment to increase nursing involvement in research-related activities to improve patient outcomes. We support our nurses from study design, data management, dissemination and funding efforts.

The Cedars-Sinai Nursing is committed to engaging nurses in the development and provision of evidence-driven care. The Department of Nursing Research promotes sound and ethical research methods to study patient care and population health. Current research areas include:

  • Health disparities and equity
  • Genomics
  • Health outcomes of older adults
  • Patient safety across the continuum
  • Nurse-sensitive Indicators
In 2021, 93% of all clinical nurses held a BSN or higher—74% with a BSN, and 19% with a graduate degree or higher in nursing.

Nursing Research Conference

Annually, Cedars-Sinai hosts a Nursing Research Conference to showcase our nurse’s quality improvement and research efforts. The conference celebrates and disseminates new knowledge and innovations through dozens of podium and poster presentations.

Nursing Research Committee

The Nursing Research Committee mentors nurses as they evaluate best practices and innovations. From idea generation, abstract submission, to presentation and publication, they support our nurse’s inquiry to improve practice and the work environment.
