Center for Cardiac Arrest Prevention

As a Project Scientist in our Center of Cardiac Arrest Prevention group, you will work independently and in cooperation with the Principal Investigator to make significant and creative contributions to a research or creative project in any academic discipline. You may be an ongoing member of a research team or may be employed for a limited period of time to contribute high-level skills to a specific research or creative program. As a Project Scientist, you are not required to carry out independent research or to develop an independent research reputation and do not have teaching responsibilities. Ordinarily, the Project Scientist title will carry out research or creative programs as well as administration of day-to-day lab operations with supervision by a member of the Professorial Series.

As a Research Bioinformatician II, you will join the research team at the Center for Cardiac Arrest Prevention directed by Dr. Sumeet Chugh and located within the Cedars-Sinai Smidt Heart Institute. The overall goal of this Center is to predict and prevent sudden cardiac arrest, a mostly lethal condition. You will perform general bioinformatics analysis and provides software support for projects, and interacts with investigators to identify research problems and find appropriate software tools. Will manage and analyze clinical data as well as omics data including loading and querying data from the Center’s database, and transform and merge multilevel data into user-friendly formats. You will provide bioinformatics data analysis, preliminary interpretation of the data, and reports of the results for possible publications. Work with bioinformatics faculties to determine future bioinformatics needs and help to develop tools and pipelines as necessary to keep pace with rapid advances in technology. You will demonstrate continuous self-improvement, make effective contributions to the center, and adhere to the Cedars-Sinai Health System compliance plan, code of conduct, and hospital and departmental policies and procedures. You may also serve as a preceptor for students.
