Instrumentation
The Rodent Genetics Core is equipped with the following devices:
- Zeiss inverted microscope Axio Observer A1 with Nomarski optics and Axio Vert A1 with PlasDIC equipped with the Eppendorf TransferMan NK2 motorized micromanipulator and the Eppendorf FemtoJet injection system
- Piezo Impact Drill System PMM-150FU (Prime Tech)
- Two Zeiss SteREO Discovery V8 dissecting microscopes with integrated LED illumination (one with fluorescence microscopy optics for green florescent protein (GFP) and DsRed or tdTomato)
- P97 pipette puller (Sutter Instrument Co.) and MF-900 microforge (Narishige)
- Two CO2 incubators for IVF (Thermo-Fisher)
- Eppendorf Multiporator for tetraploid complementation experiments
- Three LN2 freezers for cryopreservation of embryos and sperm
- One centralized LN2 freezer for long-term cryopreservation in BioBank
- Video camcorder and 22-inch monitor for recording and educational purposes
- Computerized convertible microscope with fluorescence microscopy optics for GFP and DsRed or tdTomato
