Trainees will see the entire scope of pediatric care—from pediatric preventive care, to healthy children who become acutely ill with common general pediatric and subspecialty conditions, to chronically ill children including the most medically complex patients. Residents will see a tremendous diversity of patients, including the vast ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds reflected in the Los Angeles community. Saban Community Clinic and Harbor-UCLA Medical Center serve a predominantly uninsured and underinsured population, while the entire spectrum of patient backgrounds is seen in all clinical venues in Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children’s. The amazing diversity of the training experience will prepare resident graduates for whatever career path they choose.

Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children’s faculty members have an established commitment to medical education. We currently host several programs including pre-medical students, UCLA medical students for their pediatric core clerkship and fourth-year medical students from across the country on numerous pediatric electives. We also host residents from multiple training programs, including UCLA pediatric residents on electives and family medicine residents for their core inpatient requirements. We also train fellows from Harbor-UCLA and other Cedars-Sinai fellowship programs. Our pediatric residents will be working with fellow trainees in a very supportive educational environment, taught and mentored by experienced faculty who are dedicated to resident professional development and personal wellbeing.
