Prerequisites

Applicants need a baccalaureate degree (BS/BA) or equivalent from an accredited institution. Degrees earned outside the U.S. may require official evaluation. We do not require GRE scores.

Who Should Apply

A wide spectrum of perspectives, expertise and backgrounds is an essential component for learning, so applicants across various backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.

Individual Courses

Learn specific topics independently through self‑paced online courses. Individual courses do not include live sessions or certificate program participation.

Resume or CV

Relevant work experience in the regulatory or healthcare industries is suggested, but not required. Candidates without industry experience who demonstrate specific interest in clinical and regulatory sciences will still be considered.

This program provides professionals with the knowledge and skills to engage in the regulatory field. This program focuses on learning the basics of clinical and regulatory sciences and on applying real-world concepts.

The certificate program is designed to take one year.

To make our program accessible, the program currently operates entirely virtually. Lectures are prerecorded to allow students to learn at their own pace and enable flexibility for working professionals. Monthly live Q&A sessions, held virtually, are available to provide students with opportunities to clarify questions and engage with instructors and classmates.

The program focuses on developing knowledge and practical skill sets across five core competencies:  

1. Clinical Trials and Development
2. Regulatory Frameworks
3. Risk Management and Compliance
4. Drugs, Biologics and Medical Devices
5. Data Science and Quality Systems

This program is offered entirely virtually. The program comprises three courses, with one course offered per trimester. Lectures are prerecorded, allowing students to learn at their own pace and providing flexibility for working professionals. Additionally, live Q&A sessions (held virtually) provide valuable opportunities for students to ask questions, connect directly with instructors and engage in meaningful discussions with fellow students.

The cost of the certificate program is $3,500. Employees of Cedars-Sinai may be eligible for Cedars-Sinai's Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) and an employee tuition rate. Tuition rates may be adjusted at the discretion of the institution.
