Gotanda Lab
The Gotanda Laboratory focuses on measuring meaningful, scalable outcomes for older adults with chronic conditions, particularly dementia, and generating scientifically rigorous evidence to inform national interventions that improve these outcomes. The lab leverages comprehensive data sources, including Medicare claims, and applies quasi-experimental methods to evaluate real-world care and policy interventions.
Personal Statement
My research is motivated by my clinical practice as a geriatrician caring for older adults with multiple chronic conditions, with the goal of preserving independence and supporting aging at home. I generate rigorous evidence to inform scalable interventions that improve outcomes that matter to older adults and their care partners.
