Naren Lab
The Naren Lab integrates basic science and translational research to advance personalized medicine. By studying CFTR biology using patient-derived models, we develop targeted therapies and bridge laboratory discoveries to clinical applications, aiming to improve outcomes for individuals with cystic fibrosis.
Personal Statement
Naren Lab research has focused on elucidating the cellular and molecular mechanisms by which protein-protein interactions regulate the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) chloride channel in conditions such as cystic fibrosis (CF) and secretory diarrhea. More recently, we have advanced personalized therapeutic approaches for CF patients, alongside the development of patient-specific model systems, including patient-derived organoids and CF organ-on-a-chip platforms, to investigate disease mechanisms, progression and potential reversal.
