Kabir Lab
The Kabir Lab studies adipose tissue function in obesity, Type 2 diabetes and aging. We investigate how inflammation and cellular senescence contribute to metabolic dysfunction and examine the effects of SGLT2 inhibitors and incretin-based therapies. Our work integrates metabolic physiology, human tissue studies and experimental models.
Personal Statement
I am an assistant professor at Cedars-Sinai with nearly three decades of research in obesity, diabetes and metabolic physiology. My work spans insulin clearance, insulin resistance and glucose metabolism. My current research examines adipose tissue dysfunction, cellular senescence and metabolic therapies in aging and disease.
