Yao Lab
The Yao Lab is dedicated to unraveling the complexities of lung epithelial progenitor cells in development, tissue maintenance, injury repair, acute and chronic lung diseases. By integrating cutting-edge omics technologies, advanced animal models and patient-derived samples, the Yao Lab aims to develop innovative therapeutic strategies and drive advancements in personalized pulmonary medicine.
The Yao Laboratory is located within the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Medicine and affiliated with the Women’s Guild Lung Institute. The Yao Laboratory is part of the Lung Stem Cell and Regeneration Group.
Personal Statement
I have a longstanding interest in understanding the mechanisms that regulate lung epithelial progenitor cell fate decisions during development and maintenance, and their dysregulation in chronic lung diseases. By elucidating these mechanisms, we aim to develop novel strategies to promote lung regeneration in both acute and chronic lung diseases.
