Principal Investigator
Andrew Lin, MBBS, BMedSci
Postdoctoral Researcher

Andrew Lin, MBBS, BMedSci, earned his medical degree at the University of Melbourne, Australia. He completed internal medicine training at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, followed by cardiology training at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Princess Alexandra Hospital, Australia. He subsequently completed fellowships in advanced echocardiographic and cardiac computed tomography interpretation, and cardiac MRI, at MonashHeart.

Andrew is undertaking a PhD in coronary computed tomography angiography and has been awarded a prestigious Australian National Health and Medical Research Council scholarship. Joining the Dey Laboratory in July 2019, his research interests include vascular inflammation, coronary plaque quantification, and artificial intelligence in cardiac computed tomography.

Aryabod Razipour, MD
Research Associate III

Aryabod received his associate degree in science from El Camino College, bachelor of science in biochemistry from UCLA and his medical degree from Universidad Central del Este in the Dominican Republic. Aryabod also received academic training and a degree in health information technology from Santa Barbara City College and is continuing his educational career in health delivery science with Cedars-Sinai’s Graduate Department. Prior to joining Cedars-Sinai, he has worked as a research fellow with Professor Matthew J. Budoff, MD, a world-renowned cardiologist at L.A. BioMed/Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. Afterward, Aryabod employed with Prime Healthcare organization to assist clinical departments in IT planning and implementation; worked with the leaderships of administration, IT and reimbursement to create detailed application designs that conform to application architecture guidelines. Currently, he is a research fellow in cardiac imaging at Cedars-Sinai, working to develop machine- and deep-learning algorithms, which allow for fast, robust and fully automated quantification of cardiovascular measurement from noncontrast calcium scoring CT; it performs equally well as an expert reader and can be implemented in clinical routine for cardiovascular risk assessment. Recently, he became a board member of Trendsetters.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, watching science fiction movies and cooking.

Nipun Manral
Clinical Research Data Specialist

Nipun Manral earned his master's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California. He specializes in machine-learning, deep-learning and data-mining technologies and is currently working on the applications of deep learning for plaque segmentation using CTA images. Prior to joining Cedars-Sinai, Nipun worked as a systems engineer in the information technology industry. He also volunteers with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, where he has won several prestigious awards such as the IEEE Young Professionals Achievement Award and the IEEE Hall of Fame Award for his contributions to technical and professional development of young professionals.

Caroline Park
Clinical Research Associate

Caroline Park, BS, graduated from UCLA with a degree in biology. During her time at UCLA, she was a research associate at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center facilitating clinical trial enrollment of emergency medicine patients. She completed further emergency medicine research examining the correlation between netrin-1 signaling and characteristics of myocardial infarction in patients, the performance of the investigational Alinity I STAT High Sensitive Troponin-1 assay, and the analysis of two arms of treatment for sepsis. Since May 2021, Caroline has worked in the Dey Lab researching cardiac computed tomography angiography.
