Freedland Lab

Personal Statement

Stephen Freedland, MD, is director of the Center for Integrated Research in Cancer and Lifestyle, co-director of the Cancer Genetics and Prevention Program and associate director for faculty development at the Cancer Institute. He is a faculty physician in the Division of Urology at the Cedars-Sinai Surgery Department. Freedland's clinical expertise focuses on urological diseases, particularly benign prostatic hyperplasia and prostate cancer.

  • Specializes in prostate cancer prevention, management and outcomes
  •  Increase our knowledge of the interaction between nutritional carbohydrates and prostate cancer.
  • The Freedland Lab is also using an in vivo model to look at the effects of cholesterol signaling reduction and restoration on castration-resistant prostate cancer.
